question about yoyo and kubotai

will kubotai and yoyo school? and would 1 yoyo and 2 kubotai be a good number?

No for both questions.
Magic number for school is 5 or more.
Kubotai uses to mock YoYos.

You can have both kubotai and YoYo in same tank (as I do) but they won´t school each other. Also, older kubotai will bother YoYos, at least is that way that things happens here.

Most Loaches will not school with other species of Loaches. Aim for a group of at least 5 of any one species, more is better.
You can have different species in one tank, they just normally do not act as one school. And, as Marcos notes, some species do not get along so well.
What size tank do you have? Are there other fish besides Loaches?

ok I finally found a fish store in my area that had yoyo's so I went ahead and got 3 here is what I have:
30 gal planted tank, 40 gal filtration, 40 gal aeration, a 8" log deco w/ drift wood creating a bridge to a 4" stump deco, various river stone (all vinegar tested) oh and a heater tank temp is 79° F and water prams are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and 20ppm nitrate (working on getting it down)
4 yoyo loaches, 3 corys, 4 female guppies, 3 female platy's, 4 female mollies, 1 male beta, 1 Chinese algae eater.
will post pictures next week when I pick up my camera, my last one was stolen by either a TSA or a Frontier airline employee.

I think that you have overloaded this tank. A 30 is not enough floor space for Yoyo Loaches, and all the other fish without counting the Yoyos are already a full bioload. You will have a very hard time keeping the nitrate low. I would suggest a tank at least 4' long for Yoyo Loaches, they get pretty big.

everything I read on them said max at 6", however the bio-load has now changed, a very sad incident happened tonight as I saw my platy's killing the beta, the bet now deceased, and the platy's removed, 4 fish have been removed from the tank each platy was full grown at 2" and the beta was a whopping 3 to 4" so I hope this will help.
on another note I so already miss my beta (blue) he was such a cool fish, he hand fed every morning and by hand fed I mean he swam up into my hand and ate his food out of my fingers, and spoon fed every night for 2 years now
I don't know why the platy's killed him?!?! a moment of silence for my best behaved fish ever...
