Any clue?

Hello all,

At my LFS there was one of these guys that came in with the Gastromyzon scitulus' Image

Of course I took it home and can't place the species. It is not only different in colour and shape, but also much more active then the others I have.

Some of you guys have a clue?

Looks like a Chinese algae eater - "Gyrinocheilus aymonieri" to me

Looks very interesting! Perhaps Neogastromyzon??
Please more pics and a pic from underside could be useful.

Very interesting. How many pharangeal teeth does it posess?

I may be not be serious.
6 x Clown Loaches all 30 years of age on 01.01.2024, largest 11.5", 2 large females, 4 smaller males, aquarium 6' x 18" x 18" 400 ltr/90 uk gal/110 US gal. approx.

The picture you posed looks like an Algae Eater haha.

A careful look at the photo (particularly at the pectoral and pelvic fins) shows that this fish definitely resembles a "sucker body" type fish, and is not similar to a chinese algea eater.

Not that I know what species it is...

It's a juvenile pseudogastromyzon fasciatus.
