Botia sidthimunki vs clowns as snail eaters

Hi I'm really new to loaches, just bought 3 Botia sidthimunkis a couple of days ago to help combat my snail problem, and they are awesome fishes. Only thing is they're not doing much to my snail population, so I was considering getting 3 more clown loaches in my 60 gallon discus tank.

My question is do they get along, and are clowns better snail eaters than Botia sidthimunki?

Thanks!

crush a snail shell (with the snail guts still in the shell) to get the little guys used to the idea that snails are food.
get some more sids.
clowns get huge

Clown loaches are a little too boisterous to house with discus. They are nocturnal and can easily disturb and scare the discus after lights out. I wouldn't advise keeping them together.

Y. sidthimunki will eat the smallest of the snails, but you'll probably have to manually remove the adults. It'll take time, but eventually this will have an effect on the overall population. I'd agree with newshound, and advise on adding some more sids to your group.

Thanks Emma, you're right, the discus are kinda skittish even with the cories at night. Love my little dwarves they're shoaling with the cardinals. Have yet to see them eat a snail squished or whole, but I'm sure they'll get the idea lol.
