Spawning dojos

So yesterday I did a 50% water change, which I do weekly, and today, since early this morning, two of my dojos have been spawning. Tirelessly. The eggs are getting eaten immediately by other tank inhabitants, so no fry, BUT. Are they going to wear themselves out to the point of injury? It's almost 12 hours of non-stop loach action here.

I've gotten some cool video footage, including underwater video, and I'll upload them and share as soon as the camera is completely dry. :)

Haha, no, it's a cheap little underwater video camera I picked up at Costco for our family snorkeling vacation this winter. We can't stop playing with it--it's fun and so far, very effective at working while submerged. :)

I'll get the videos up this morning. One of them came out very nicely. And the two loaches? They're still at it. (Get a room, you two!)

Oh my god yes, one of my FAVORITE Futurama episodes.

And here's the video. Sorry for the glass reflection--I should have closed the blinds.

THAT was cool, thank you! If you get any fry, you'll have to name one Philip J.

Thanks for sharing that awesome video! Most of us don't get the privilege of witnessing that. :D

Yes, Nancy, both my bigger dojos got those brown spots pretty quickly after I bought them. I was quite alarmed at first, but have since learned that it's normal with the goldens. My little guy, the male in the video, has no spots yet.

They spawned for 2 days and finally called it. :) The female only released 4-5 eggs at a time--I wonder if that's normal? Both dojos are back to themselves now, although the male lost some body fat in all the excitement and is a lot thinner than he used to be...
