Hi Guys,

I ve been following this forum for some time now, and it was one of the inspirations to have the hillstream tank i m having now.
But now i ve registered because i m dont know whats the name of my most recent loach.
I m having the next fish in my hillstream tank

- rhinogobius duospilus 2m 3v
- tanichtys albonubes 11
- barbus nigrofasciatus 9
- sewellia lineolata 3
- gastromyzon punctulatus? 3 the fins are quite blueish in the wright light
- unknown species of loach

so can u help me identify this loach, i think its pseudogastromyzon fasciatus.

Hello Geert,
I think you're right. The fish looks like P. fasciatus at your pics.
As for gastromyzon punctulatus, this name in the trade often combines several species of spot painted gastromyzons: G.stellatus, G.ctenocephalus, G.scitulus. They all may be in a one shipping and have blue color in coloration of the tail fin.
Have you photo of gastromyzons?

Thanks for the reply,

but i'm aa little worried, this morning i found one of the p.fasciatus dead.
and i dont know whats the indication, parameters are fine, and the sewellia and other gastromyzon still doing fine.

could it be because i gave them less time to adept to the my aquariumwater then i did with the other species,
or is this p.fasciatus more sensitive.
for so far as i know the other two are fine, but they are much less visible then the other hillstreamloaches

Not P. fasciatus. It's P. changtingensis
