Interesting write up on some of the loaches from Vietnam. The vanmanenia crassicauda looks amazing!

I saw that too - a very cool loach-among other cool creatures.

Noticed what you are currently keeping - do you have photos posted somewhere? I am looking at converting my 24" 15g's into hillstream tanks and several of your species are on my want list. I currently have one reticulated sewelia and some otos in a tank. Any advice you have is much appreciated.

I have several photos on this forum spread throughout various threads. This is a good one:

My first bit if advice is to add more Sewellia if you can. Their interactions are really fun to watch. If you have specific questions, post a new topic in the forum and take advantage of our collective experiences and wisdom.

I was hoping to add more; thanks for the confirm that it is a good idea.

Those photos in the link are fabulous! Very inspiring. Looking at reef frag tank to make into a hillstream tank - we'll see.

While Vanmanenia crassicauda did not materialize, another new unusual hillstream loach did, Hemimyzon nanensis, and it seems to be the first time any Hemimyzon became available.

so if interested get them while you can (I did).

Mikev, are they the real ones? I was going to purchase a small group of them too but wanted to make sure they were the real ones rather than a misidentified species.

Nobody can guarantee the species since our knowledge of hemimyzons is next to nil. :P

But I'm fairly certain they are Hemimyzons.

OK, I'll post a few preliminary shots on another thread.
