So I've cleared out all of the tank mates and most of the shrimp (hard to catch and very prolific!). As I said before, I was going to move the group into a larger tank but have decided to leave them where they are and try for another spawning. I believe (hope) this is a female full of eggs:

With any luck I'll be able to report another success.

I dont know the first thing about these fish, but wow, they look good. Always as active as in the videos? They only look slghtly larger than the red cherrys. Is that max size, or is the camera tricking me?

It happened again, I've got fry! I must look at this tank at least 3 times a day and I've never seen the eggs or newly hatched fry. But at tonight's feeding, out pop a few fry about the size of a thick eyelash. Hopefully there are several more than last time.

Maarten, apologies for not responding to your previous post, I just saw it today. Yes, they are very active, especially at feeding time. The fry in the videos were about the size of the shrimp but the adults are about 6cm.

Thanks guys. I have a sneaking suspicion that there have been previous spawnings that I've simply missed. And as the fry are so small, they've died due to a lack of food. As soon as I saw this group I setup a brine shrimp hatchery so at least these will have the opportunity to thrive. I've only spotted 5 so far but I'm hopeful there are more as there is a fair bit of cover along the back of the tank. I think going forward I'll try to simplify the setup so I can better monitor these awesome loaches.

As of today, I've counted 13 fry! They've doubled in size to about 1cm. I've been feeding them newly hatched brine shrimp as well as some powdered food mixed with decapped brine shrimp eggs. They are very active and entertaining.
