Youve convinced me with all your loach videos :)

I want to convert my tank into a loach tank...

Soooo:

is a 55G ok as a loach tank? What a waste of height no?

Do I want sand? What kind? How do I clean it?

What kind of aquascaping to loaches want?

What foods are best?

What kind of current/aeration do I want (species to follow)?

can I mix the following:

B striata
histrionica
kubotai
rostrata

say four or five each?

Can I also keep my dozen bronze corys in there? And my pair of bristlenose plecos? Obviously they'll like the upped current... Any of these loaches have attitude problems?

Thanks :)

Oh and do I NEED dithers? Do the loaches care?

The loaches you mentioned should do fine, but if you want less fish but some larger ones, yoyos would be excellent. The cories and pleco should be fine, but they will limit your loach selection to only smaller loaches.Rather than buying dithers, buy lots and lots of hiding spots. This makes the fish feel safer with plenty of access to hiding spots in case a predator shows up, so the will wander out into the open more. Dither fish will also probably work, but keep in mind the tank's stocking limits. For food, get lots of different sinking foods.I use shrimp pellets, algea wafers, and scavenger pellets.

Get a 75g, almost 50% more floor ( loach) space.
