I was just wondering how big these guys eventually get. the two I bought a month or so ago have already outgrown the '7cm' as stated in a popular fish book, although this is no problem as they are in a 60gal tank.

depends on the size of your tank, you have a 60g which means lots more space for them to grow and live in a safe enviroment. I don't think they will get any bigger than that but you never know.

One of mine is about 5 years old in a 90 gal and is about 14cm total length. Another is over 10 years old and in a 35hex and is about the same.

You have a 10 year old YoYo? How old do they get?

I have no idea how long they live.

That tank has had "the cronies," a Yoyo and clown in there since at least '95. Hell there was an otto cat in there for at least 7 years! That was the fish that amazed me. He disappeared in the plants for 2 or 3 and I was very surprised when I saw him. I have a histrionica, rostrata, and dario that are probably 7 years old.

JL has talked about clowns in California, that he know are around 40 years old.

It was kind of funny recently. Friends came to visit with their kids the other week. The girls are getting old enough to really become interested in tanks. They are 12 and 8 and thought it amazing that the fish were as old as they were:)
