so... does anyone know if yo-yos and zebras are accustomed to re-arranging EVERY plant in the tank, regardless if it's fake or real? they have torn up one of my fake plants and then the ram picks it up and swims around the tank with it... are they ok? or just playing around in their little loachey ways?

LOL :D Gardners, what a great term for them :)

Yes, it's perfectly normal....at least in my tank. I have large Anubias in my tank, and the loaches won't leave them where I put them for more then a couple days. Half my water change on that tank is replanting.

What type of Rams do you have? I'm going to assume Bolivians, and say, yep, they do it too ;)

Isn't it FUN :D

funny you asked about the ram...
i don't know what type he is. he looks identical to a keyhole, but doesn't have the keyhole... he has a black stripe on his eye and he's a gray-ish color with metallic (orange and green) scales when the light hits him right. i'm getting a bolivian today... she came in! maybe they'll breed. the one i have now is doing well in my aquarium, but aren't they cichlids? i have mainly tropicals... sorry, just curious.

Let's see if I can help :)

This is the Bolivian I used to have. Adorable and very personable.

He lived happily with Loaches and others, but no other Bolivians, for quite some time. He was given to me by someone who purchased him on accident, so it wasn't a fish I would have choosen for the tank. I ended up letting him go to a more appropriate home.

Anyway, is that what yours looks like?

kinda, but the tail is off... and he doesn't have the black speckles on his body... i really don't know what i have... but it is related to a ram which is making me want to get a ram today just for company since they like pairs or more...plus there's room for him..

Hmmmmmm.....that looks to my more like a type of Eartheater....Geophagus or something similar. They are VERY much "Gardners". They sift sand for food, which means moving just about everything in the tank :)

I might be able to find out for you, but it would mean posting your pic on another site. Do you mind?

Wait a second.....Sully is a member here, why don't you post that in the "Freshwater Forum" and ask for an ID. Sully raises these types and he would probably know best :)
