I’m working on a mini dream tank right now, but my big dream is to have a super long shallow tank that is easy to maintain. I’ve thought about this quite a bit already. The over-all length would be about 40ft, about 2 ft wide, and height would be about 16 inches (so that my shirt sleeves wouldn't ever get wet when I reach into the tank for something)

. The tank will probably be U-shaped, with two- 12 ft legs and 16ft in the middle.
It would be low light. I'd plant the tank with nothing but Tiger Lotus'. My dream aquascape idea’s are still evolving though.
I might not get any new fish. I'd just move most of the fish I have now to the dream tank. Clown Loaches, Kuhli Loaches, Bristlenose Pleco's, and Boesemani Rainbowfish. The Pleco’s and Rainbowfish have been spawning steadily, so the tank would be self-stocking. I love watching these fish families grow.

My dream tank? LOL A tank ROOM.
I'd want each wall to have a large, spacious tank, one dedicated to botias, one dedicated to catfish, one a river tank. ^_^
That would be my ideal set up, honestly.

one of my old customers lined his basement with pondliner and filled it about 2' high. He added walkways and the pictures looked awesome. This seems like my dream tank, if I could figure out what to do about the evaporation...

rally,
wouldnt the water evaporation make your floor and floor joists rot?!
sorry for saying what a said about aquahobby.com...haha
i figured out that you could make a 800g tank that is 12x3x3'...haha..thats 144x36x36"
my BEDROOM is 11x11...so the 800 would be longer than my room..but yea, a 3 foot tall tank wouldnt be practical, you wouldnt be able to reach the bottom without getting your SHOULDERS wet...haha
some good ideas so far,
brett.

Like worldrallynut my dream tank would basically be a very large indoor pond, lots of flow and lots of Clown Loaches and large danios and Rasboras
One way round evaporation could be to have a couple of dehumidifiers running which have been slightly modified so that they return the water collected straight back into the tank/pond.
