Almost forgot to post this. I put the 20 Tiger Barbs in the Clown Tank. For the first day the Clowns went insane, swimming everywhere with the shoal of Tigers. They gradually got used to them and settled down, but I have seen an improvement in the amount of Clown activity during the day.

Here's most of them visible....they shoal beautifully.

Here's a closer look......smaller than life-size. They are near adult.

They have different sorts of activity periods during the day......way different behaviour to when I've just kept a few. Every so often, the 3 Botia kubotai will go nuts shoaling with them. I virtually never saw the kubs, so that's a great improvement.

Nice pics Martin. I have tiger barbs with clowns too. They have been learning from each other. The first time I fed zuccini with the barbs there they all formed a circle 2 or 3 inches away to watch the loaches eat. Soon the barbs were trying it too. The loaches beg much more now since the barbs are always starving & are very fast at feeding time. The loaches seem more relaxed & often rest in the open areas during the day.

I put a length wize slice from a mini cucumber in the tank the other day. The Tigers ate the lot! I don't believe the Clowns got any of it. Greedy little monkeys they are

That looks great! I've been meaning to ask you about the new tigers.
By the way, is that a patch of algae on the glass in the middle of the tank?
;)

Not algae Jim, just a reflection of the armchair back .

Darn it!
I was hoping to be able to give you a hard time about that. :(

Nice!

One of the things I love most about Clowns (and most of the other "friendly" botias) is that they are happy to adopt almost anyone into the shoal. Mine will even do the loachy dance in the evening with the corys. :)
