Botia histrionica PICS

A bit more experimenting with the new camera today. All these pics are of fish about 9" back in the tank.
This is the Czech-bred
histrionica that regulars here will remember as being christened "CurlyQ" because of a spell he had where his barbels all curled up. He's perfectly ok now.
The other side.
One of the others. This pic is no way perfect, but considering it's cropped pic of a fish that far back in the tank it shows the possibilities if I can get one in closeup. They won't stay still though.

That's
some camera, Martin.
That top photo is amazing for being 9" back in the tank.
I can't get photos like that when my fish are practically touching the front glass.

Yeah, I'm absolutely well pleased with this so far. Now I have to get the fish back to being less camera shy. It's been a while since I've taken a lot of pics and they're definitely a bit scared of it at present.
One thing to consider with all these pics so far is they are all "freehand". Based on past experience I can get even more superior quality using the tripod.

Mine are camera shy, too. They will swim right up to my hand, but bring out the camera, and they all swim away and huddle behind the driftwood. Silly fish!

Martin, there are quite a few nice close up shots, what did you use for lighting, indirect flashlight?
And since I just saw these pics I'd like to know what camera you used to take them .

Well firstly Ken there's the rather unique tank lighting.....

I just used the built-in flash in the camera which is a Canon A640. It's 10.1 Mp and I only got it on Thursday so I'm still experimenting. So far it is seemingly very similar to my old trusty Canon A70, just has vastly superior potential picture quality.
