But what is it?

Appears to be called SOOO-GOOG or GOOG-SOOO

It was in a tank by itself with some Rift-Lake cichlids and I got it for the same price as regular Yoyos. It's still floating in the bag and faded. In the tank at the shop the markings were very dark. Far more than normal Yoyos. It's about 1.75" SL.

I picked up 10 nice fat and healthy Cherry Barbs too. This guy's going in with them but eventually it'll end up in the Clown tank. I'm wondering if it might end up turning out like the one that Emma had reserved for Helen. Right now it looks like a Yoyo/Kubotai combo. Should be interesting to watch the development.

Nice find...I wouldn't have resisted that one either...but I did resist some baby horse-faces today. Probably kick myself later

Any chance of pics newshound? It would be interesting to compare others like this. I'm betting TheDarkOne is going to be all over this

Hmm, looks like a slightly reticulated B. almorhae to me. Nice find, Martin!

Ahh! Given the Botia almorhae pattern and the charmed looks of a Botia rostrata (head wise), i would predict the possibility of a juvenile Botia birdi.

I have one Yoyo that I call 'the dyslexic Yoyo' because the pattern is so far out of the norm for Yoyos. This post has raised the possibility that my 'dyslexic Yoyo' might be some other species, mixed up with Yoyos.

I'm pretty sure that's what my yoyos look like? I can see what you mean about the head, but....

actually, there's something not-yoyo as well about the body-shape, too, isn't there?

hrrrrrm...

so how is it behaving? is it cocky enough for a yoyo?

will you give us more photos of it settled in please?
