I managed to get a couple of videos of my Emperor botias feeding.

The first 3 that I got were quite skinny but after 5 rounds of levimasole and 1 round of Flubenol they are looking really well.

There are 6 Emperors and 4 Botia histrionca's in the tank.

Awesome vids, MD, and a total contrast to my 6 Emperors which are very shy - even at feeding time. I think they may be intimidated by the sheer volume of large clown loaches. It will be interesting to see if the behaviour of yours change when you add some clowns to the 7ft tank with them.

I rarely see any of my 6 together, and if they are it is when one is frantically chasing the other away. Mine also look a lot darker and are very disguised amongst the bogwood when resting.

I think the one thing that is worrying me the most is if they will change personality wise once in the 7ft, they are very outgoing in the quarantine tank and demolish everything. I have built caves with rocks and bogwood that looked great but next morning everything if flat on the bottom of the tank , I am just hoping the don't wreck everything in the 7ft.

The PVC tubing was a last resort really, the pipes are cable tied together and then cable tied to the rock which was the only way of making sure they didn't wreck that as well .

The mixture of flakes has definitely helped build them up and get them eating commercial foods, they just didn't seem to be building up the way I would have expected on frozen foods alone. They took to the spirulina flake straight away and then accepted the garlic and earthworm flakes and will now happily take promin and JMC catfish pellets, this extra diet has helped them build up some weight and they do look really chunky now.

Great videos. They look to be in excellent condition I've never seen garlic flake before- could you let me know where you get it? I'm always on the lookout for new food for my guys.

I have just asked my supplier if he has any in stock yet and if he has I will pass on his details to you.

He got a batch of the garlic flake and earthworm to try and gave me some to try on my loaches and when I told him that everything loved the stuff he said he would start to stock it.

earthworm flakes
brine shrimp flakes
garlic flakes
phyto plankton flakes
tropical medley flakes
beef heart flakes (waiting for stock to arrive)

They all come in 97g tubs at £5.95 per tub plus £1.00 p+p.

Those are some of the coolest looking loaches I've ever seen. All the tanks look magnificent too.

They will be joined by the first group of Clowns going in the 7ft tank on Friday, I cant wait

Definitely worth a try Graeme, even the hillies love the garlic and earthworm flakes. I haven't tried the brine shrimp flakes or the phyto plankton flakes yet but if they are as good as the others I will be giving them a go soon
