Various designs of S.ornatus.

I think that it is S.ornatus.
It is Stiphodon which it is easy to obtain most.
It is exported in large quantities constantly from Indonesia.
S.semoni and S.maculidorsalis also rarely mixed in Stiphodon from Indonesia.
But it is easy to distinguish those three kinds.
The body color pattern of S.ornatus is very variegated actually.
There might be a possibility that it contains more species.
However, I think that it is good in S.ornatus now.

It's only the sub-tropical area in the most south that Stiphodon can be seen in Japan.
I visit there at the end of November every year.
It seems that the site is written in Chinese.

Hi!
It will be useful to compare Fig.1 of two following articles so that you distinguish them.
Stiphodon palawanensis
"having a line of black blotches (male) or a black band (female) on distal part of second
dorsal fin"

Hello odyssey - I tried to pm you but it didn't send for whatever reason. When you see this can you answer these questions:
1)
What size is the tank?
2) what gobies do you have in there?
3)
Possibly share one of your emails with me so that I can message you about something to do with my hillstream biotope - as mentioned earlier I can't pm you on this website. Or tell me if you're on another forum so I can message you there.

And you'd be able to get various responses earlier from everyone more.

Hi everyone.
An awesome book was published!
*************************************************************************************
"Indo-Pacific Sicydiine Gobies"
Biodiversity,life traits and conservation
Philippe Keith, Clara Lord, Ken Maeda
**************************************************************************************
Fortunately I have already obtained it.
It doesn't seem possible to find the book by the internet search yet.
I hope that many people become able to obtain it in the near future.
I introduce only the cover page of the book and a small part of the contents here.
This book includes detailed explanation and photograph of Sicydiine Gobies of the following species.
Stiphodon 30
Sicyopterus 26
Sicyopus 7
Smilosicyopus 7
Lentipes 18

Thanks for replying! My tank is very similar sized to yours as its 60x30x30 cm. May I ask how many gobies are in your tanks? I say this because I'm not sure how they don't fight quite a lot in a fairly small tank. They look really good!
I'm thinking of getting a group of 5 stiphodon rutilaureus for my tank that should be available in a week or 2....on top of the 2 gobies I have could I put any more gobies in the tank? This is my tank:
http://imgur.com/TVCFGw8
I tried to create a banked sort of look, so the left side is where the river approaches the bank therefore the rocks appear to be higher. This also allows the creation of many caves for the gobies.
I'd like to say thanks as well because thanks to your videos on your YouTube channel it helped to inspire this tank. Your picture and videos really are impressive and really helped me to try and capture a small piece of the environment in which these gobies live in
Edit: I also see that you keep a few sicyopterus gobies in your tanks; is it true to say that they can get too big for our sized tanks or are they of an OK size for a 60x30cm tank? Thank you
Final thing: what other fish do you keep with the gobies other than hillstream loaches and goldfishes?
