a few years ago i bought 3 amano shrimp (2 females, 1 male) i noticed the other day that the 2 females are missing legs 1 female only having 1 feeding arm and 2 other legs each side the other female having no feeding arms and 3 legs on one side the 1 1/2 legs on the other.
is the leg loss due to deterioration as their getting old (dont know the life span). or is it due to a poor shed? and will their legs grow back? im concerned about the one with no feeding arms will she starve?

thanks you may just think stop worrying their just shrimp but ive had them a fairly long time and theyre in a small tank so i always see them.

I've had amanos for a few years with no loss of limbs that I'm aware of. I would assume that someone in the tank is attacking them. What are their tankmates?

their mates are a catfish, 3 polka dot loach, rasbora, serpea tetra and a female fighter but these fish have lived with the shrimp the whole time and this is the only time theres been a loss of legs. the male shrimp doesn't have any legs missing either.
but if it is an attack and old age will the legs grow back?

On my crawfish and shrimp, I have bought them missing legs. They got them back with a shed.
