Hello again, I am sorry to be wasting more of your time, but if you have a momment, I would apreciate it.

I posted earlier with a tank that was suffering from old tank syndrom,
http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php ... highlight=

and I have made lots of chages to help fix this.

I put in about 13 moss balls to help absorb nitrates, and I also replaced the substrate with pool sand.

The chemicals have remanined relativly unchanged,
Nirtite - 0
Nitrate - 30
Ammonia - 0
Ph - 7.4

This is dispite me doing water changes once every two to three days (4 gallons) on a 55 gallon tank.

Anyhow, I have already decided that the way to fix this is to just do more water changes, more frequently.

But is there anything I can do to save this fish?
And are you sure that it is High levels of Nitrate that is doing this?

Please, if you could double check, I would really apreciate it.

If the pH, KH and GH of your tap water matches the tank you can do larger water changes. The small, frequent water changes are suggested when these tests show that the new water is so different that it can cause problems for the fish.

Marimo balls grow so slowly that they are virtually worthless as far as nitrogen export goes. You need some really fast growing plants like Anacharis, Wisteria and others.

30 ppm nitrate is at the high end of safe for many fish; I try to keep the nitrates in my tanks between 10 and 20 ppm. Lower and the plants are starving for nitrogen, higher than 20 ppm, to me, is too high.

The one clown you posted that's facing upwards looks skinny. Are all the clown pics of the same clown? Your gang of clowns pic looks good.

What are you seeking diagnostics for?
