Weather loach is ill

Hey can anybody help my weather loach is around 5/6 years old and 2 weeks ago had a bit of a drama after getting his head stuck in a ornament. We phoned the vet for advice on how to get him out and he suggested bringing him in to the surgery. So we did just that and the vet managed to cut him out with plastic cutters with no problems. He seemed just fine when we brought him home and the next few days he was his usual self - eating, and swimming about.
However, about 4 days after the incident he started hiding himself in all the oranements ; completly hiding himself from view. I figured he must just have been recovering from situation at weekend but it has nearly been two weeks and i'm getting worried. He hasn't been coming out at all for food and is just hiding. On lifting his hiding place today I found his skin seems to have lightend and changed colour in places. He is very lethargic and hardly moves.
Any help on what this could be and if there is anything i could do would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
