Never heard of such a thing... wish mine had.

BTW my fish already shows signs of his scrape improving.

This isn't the best pic in the world, but it'll do for a quick reference. Anyway, my Koralia 2 looks just like yours, but it has the cone that attaches to the end and a plastic grate that covers the center of the cone. I'll see if I can find some better pics, (or take some next time I have the pump out).

The cone just snaps on and keeps the precious fish away from the propeller.

I am sure that works great... Just not sure why mine didnt come with such an attachment. I even talked to a rep for Hydor via email about the magnets not working well on 1/2" glass. I even mentioned the vulnerability of fish to swim in the front and he didnt respond to that question. He did send me some new magnets for free though.

That is interesting. From all of the posts and articles I've read about the Koralias, I'm beginning to think I got a fluke with the nose cone. I think I've only read of one other person who had one. I haven't gotten around to purchasing another one to compare with though. Maybe next time I'm at my lfs I see if they will open a box or two to compare.

My Koralia 3 came with the nose attachment also. I've had it about 5 months and am pleased with it so far. No injuries so far.

I guess it's a new (relatively speaking) item in the box. I've had my Koralia for about 2 months. I'll definitely get another with a nose cone. Otherwise they are too dangerous for my taste. Thanks for the verification chefkeith.

I am going to have send an email Hydor's way about this... and maybe the picture of my scraped up loach  maybe I'll get lucky and they will send me one free of charge. With that attachement it ends any complaint I have with it except for the magnets on 1/2" glass.

Good luck with that Tristan. Hopefully they'll send you one.

Hydor came through again, I got two of their new nose cone pieces. The rep said this is something they had started doing after I got mine originally. They are kind of cheap snap together parts, but as long as the hold together I dont care.

So for the sake of this still being a 'review' I'll take some pics of the new parts:

Sorry for the blurry pic, I'm not going to re shoot it lol.

The holes are small enough now that only a very small botia could fit in their, but most non-juvi's shouldn’t be able to.

The assembly is a little on the flimsy side, but once it's assembled, it's fine. Unless you are compulsive about cleaning it. ;)

It's great that they sent them to you though. I feel better about buying products from companies who are willing to do those kinds of things.
