I now have 2 botia kubotai in my 130 gallon tank. How will they react
with 3-4 angel fish. Is this a safe mix

i'm not 100% sure, but if possible (and if they are compatable) try to get at least one more.. loaches like big groups.

We have a large mix of different Botia species (including Botia kubotai) in our tall 8ft-long display tank at work, which is also home to some large angelfish. No problems at all, probably because there is a lot of room.

Yes, they will be a safe mix. The botia kubotia do not get very big and are very social and friendly to other fish. It is a good suggestion from poeticpyro to get another one. It is good to keep them is odd numbers too.

In my tank, Kubotai are the goofy entertainers.. Almost constantly moving and dancing around. I'd think that Kubotai would startle the Angels until the Angels get used to the extra activity but there should be no problem with agression or territorialism..

I keep my loaches in groups of five (tank size permitting). They tend to school together and rest in a group. I actually have ten Kubotai and I refer to them as my "Retarded Streetgang". Name implying that they're always together, always playing and always up to no good (goofy).. LOL

And yes, the angels are peacefull slow moving fish and the botias will definately do their "dance" with the angels. I would watch them until the angel gets used to them.
