Hi everybody,

Yesterday, when I woke up, I was about to put my sleepers when I saw a corpse of a fish just beside my bed, between my sleepers:

Smell was not good meaning it was there for a long time. I spent a few moments to realize it was really a fish. My first impression was that it could be a monster insect as lights on my room were still off.

Well, it was a fish indeed. But what fish? How could he possibly come from my living room to my bedroom?

After doing my morning countdown I noticed it was a 5" Clown loach.
I never let my tank uncovered but there are always some slim passages between the glass and the external hang on filters from where the fish jumped off.

The curious thing now was to know how the fish came to my bedroom (without caudal fin and head...).
Well... I do have a cat. He must have found the fish on the floor, struggling for oxigen and, after playing a bit with him, brought him to me as a child would bring and say: "Father... he is not playing anymore. Keep it!"

Hope he/she rest in peace... Image

Anyway... I have the oportunity to check all slim holes and introduced 3 seven inch PVC pipes to fit as caves for my loaches:

I feel your pain! You have such a nice setup for clowns.
Why does my aquarium always seem too small?

Hi Shari,
Wonder why the cat would go for the head and tail and leave the middle?
Good question! Why he eat the head and tail leaving the best part for me?

Well that sucks. I have learned that cats and fish don't mix so I make sure there is no way my wifes cats can get into the tanks.

yikes, what an awful scene! My cat couldn't care less about fish, but he's obsessed with water. We've had fish jump out from time to time, and he completely ignores them, but even the water change buckets have to be kept covered - he's nearly fallen in a couple of times!

Sad to see this...oh well, just wanted to point out that clowns can jump pretty far...

While doing a water change, one of my largest clowns panicked and flew from one end of the aquarium to the other...they can jump!

That don't look anything like a clown loach. Makes me wonder.

bad news, Marcos. that must have been a horrible shock for you.

your tank does look fantastic, and they must love those pipes. i hope your fixing has done the trick so this never happens again.
