These beauties came in a couple of weeks ago under the "Sumatran Neon Green Kuhli Loach - Pangio cf doriae" nametag. They look closer to P. anguillaris to me, but not having kept these myself, is it usual to see such pronounced red colouration on the caudal fin?
The supplier claimed these were a new discovery. What do you reckon? Pics were taken in my photo tank, and the loaches are approx 4" TL.
WOW. Whatever they are they are stunning!!!! They do look different to anguillaris and doriae, my money is on a new species. Just my opinion, sorry i can't really help.
I really really really want to come down to Crowland, it seem's every loach that i want is only sold at your shop!
They do look like my Pangio anguillaris in which i've kept for a few years now. The ones in your pictures Emma, do seem to have a slight more greenish colouration on them across the top of the body than mine. I wonder if they are just a variation/new location.
I've come across all Pangio mad recently, these pics aren't helping any. Lovely little fellas.

Good to see you splashing around on the forums again, Karl. I have to see your new pangios and you have to see my new cherries some time! Come up for a visit and maybe a trip to Crowland!
Hmmmm, I think they look closer to the standard P. anguillaris in Graeme's pic than the cf's, as those were definitely browner and the lateral stripe slightly different.
