Species ID ? / Advice ?

Post by Glostik »

I picked up these lil guys from an LFS who spent an hour catching all of them out of a display tank. Fast lil buggers. He didnt know what they were but was glad to be rid of them cause he said they dug all his substrate up.

I think they are aborichthys elongatus, but i wanted to be sure.

I have them in my clown loach tank which has lots of hiding places and a power head and 2 canister filters pushing the water from one end of the tank to another.
I just wanted to make sure this was suitable for them, I also added alot of river rock to the bottom.

They are hiding currently but I think its because all my loaches are like 10 times bigger than them.

I agree with Jim. Not A. elongatus, anyway. The increased flow is important, but ultimately, they may prefer slightly cooler water than clowns.
