Lepidocephalichthys berdmorei

Hey,
Looking for free advice again :)
I was buying dog-food at one of our few LFS (hey its a small town)
and they had "peppered loaches for sale (~2.5"). I think they were
Lepidocephalichthys berdmorei or something similair. Do they need
to have a sand substrate? Or would a very heavily planted tank
(lots of places to hide) with gravel work? They had several for sale,
and I have room for a group of 5 or so (75gal tank)...
The other bottom dwellers in the tank that I'm considering them for
are black khuli loaches (Pangio oblonga???), juli cories and sids.
Good idea or not?

Batch if it looks like this fish then they are berdmorei, check on the tail and dorsal for the barring bud.

ps mine is on a sand and gravel base, i'll leave it up to the others to say wether it's alright to go on gravel.

Hey mickthefish,
One thing that I'm wondering about these guys is do they act
like dojo loaches? My dojos seem to coexist/ignore each other,
as opposed to my Pangio oblonga Khulis which like to live/rest/forage
practically (and sometimes literally) on top of each other.

Funny, how fish behave differently. My Dojos lay on top of each other. They are always together.

Batch just call me mick bud, and no i only have one but it seems to be a bit secretive as in i only see it if food is out.
it co-exists with a few guntea.

thomas mate, your shelfordi are a fish i'm looking for. :wink:
