Loach Mobility

Post by pedzola »

So I was thinking... my poor loaches are stuck in a glass cube for essentially their whole lives. Wouldn't it be nice to give them a little bit of extra mobility?

Has anyone ever thought about making a sort of "environmental suit" for fish? Like a little space suit then can use to "walk" around outside the tank. Maybe like a gerbil ball filled with water or somethin....

Loaches are pretty smart, maybe they could be trained to operate some sort of controls (like a radio controlled car).

The problem I can see here is the buildup of ammonia inside such a small space....

lol... well April 1st isn't for a while... I would forget it by then...

How about this... ok maybe a loach-mobile sounds a little nutty, but how about giving them some other type of self-sufficiency?

Could we create some kind of trigger so that the loaches could feed themselves?

Like something that would drop some wafers or tablets into the water when the loaches press it?

I still think it would be great to see a loach driving around in his own little water-filled rover.

You might want to try water bridges first ;-)

chefkeith has an impressive habitat for his loaches to explore.

What if you put a loaches brain in a robot body?
