Nice healthy fish you have there!

One thing that worry me though is that the gravel in the weather loach tank is to sharp IMO for any loach.

I agree with you about the sharp gravel...this is a temporary home for them until their new tank finishes cycling. Their tank sprung a leak and this was the only tank that was cool enough for them.
There is a sandy area in the back of the tank as I made an area where they could bury themselves if they wanted to, but they barely use that area...they like the gravel.
