I am looking into getting 3-4 of these Botia udomritthiruji's. Can someone keeping them now tell me how big they are/get. I have an 80 gallon stocked with:

3 Y. caudipunctata
6. B. striata
1. B. eos
3. Arulius Barbs
2. Red Eye African Tetra
2. T spanner Barbs

Will my tank have space for 3-4 of these guys?

Mike i think your eos might frighten the crap out of them, as from what i've seen of them they have a similar nature to histrionica bud.

They are very placid Mike, I have my 6 with Clowns, Kubotais and Histi's and they certainly seem to get along with the Histi's best of all.

My biggest is nudging 8" now and I think could still grow some more.

Just my personal opinion but I wouldn't put them anywhere near the Eos.

We have been left with predominantly male Emperors in the 4ft stock tank at work and sometimes they go absolutely mental with each other. I think most people that came to the last LOL meet saw this. It's a dilemma because I don't really have the space to separate them at the shop (they are already in one of our bigger stock tanks) so I hope that someone comes along and buys some of them for a big set up soon.

How do your Botia striata get on with the Y. eos, Mike? That combination surprises me, given how shy B. striata can be and how nasty Y. eos usually are. Just curious.

Thanks guys. B. striata seem do be doing fine as the
eos rarely comes out and when it does only spars with the caudipunctata. Guess I will wait until I have enough room for another tank!

Yeah i must agree about the Eos's , though i suspect Eos are at their most ferocious when first introduced to a new tank ! or when juvenile ? i've always thought Eos are perfect for scrapping , with their squat bodies and small eyes , having said that they are quite handsome little fish !

I remember some years back i'd had enough of my small group of Eos , I gave them to Mick[thefish] upon seeing these smallish Botias 3 inch max , Mick said i'll put them in with my B.almorhae , oooh be careful i said Eos can be a little on the feisty side , no problem with my big Almorhae said Mick , oh alright then i said , about an hour had passed and the phone rang , what the hell have you given me said Mick , well i did warn you i said
I guess the morel of the story is he who last the longest.

and i remember that day well matey, my poor almorhae which were nearly twice they're size were cornered in the tank frightened wittless.
and the clicks from the eos was unbeleivable i thought my tank was going to explode.

My eos and striata are co-existing. I think they key is that the eos takes out its aggression on the 3 caudipunctata which can hold their ground. Neither species target the striata.
Interesting to hear other people's experiences.

I remember the clicks, I had mine in a bare bottomed tank in the living room and you could hear them upstairs

The wife thought it was kids bricking the windows (needless to say she didnt see the funny side)

Oh yea, the clicks are definetly there. Since the 80 gallon is in my bedroom they woke me up a few times at night.
