Gravel ?? for Dojo's

I almost forgot to mention, about the floating plant, it has some wire wrapped around some of the ends. Should I remove that wire? I am sure the fish store keeps it on there so they can just brab it when they want to sell it.

Hi there,

Always removed the metal wires and/or rubber bands. They rot the plant. If the ends are brown, clip them off, rinse the plant, and put it in the tank. If it is a floating plant, let it float. If it is a plant to be planted put it in the substrate. Floating really just means that you don't put it in the substrate. My plants are all over the tank.

If you post a picture of the foxtail, people may be able to tell you what it is. Sounds like hornwort. Dojos do like to sleep together. Glad you got a second one.

I ended up with 9 tanks because I made a few mistakes at the beginning. I had a bichir. I was told she ate flake. She is an obligate fish eater. Now that she is with fish she can't eat, she is a model citizen.

When my Betta gets too cold, it doesn't move much. I move heaters into my tanks in November. It is so warm here in summer.

The warmer temps I think shorten the lifespan of the Dojos, but I could be wrong.
