Borneo VS Sumatra clown loaches
Hi!
I know that there is an article here about different coloration on Borneo VS Sumatra Clown loaches.
I seem to remember that I have read somewhere that the markings/stripes also differ in these two habitats. But I`m damned if I can find that link again. Is it my "Alzheimer light" which is kicking in or is there actually a difference in markings on Borneo VS Sumatra Clowns?
Kind regards
Marius

The links to the pictures are broken, but the description of the difference between Borneo and Sumatran clowns may be helpful.

So based on the descriptions I have a mix of both. My oldest clown and the new bigger (which is of the saddle stripe type) one are Sumatran, while the three smaller ones are Borneo. Do you experts avoid mixing them? I guess it really doesn't matter as long as they don't spawn (and I gather there is little chance of that happening!!)
Why does my aquarium always seem too small?

In any event, Martin will know the back story about these drawings.
To my knowledge, the markings are not good regional indicators, while the colouring is fairly reliable. I don't think I've heard of the marking patterns providing much information. After all, the markings are variable within small populations in one area or another.

Your vantage point determines what you can see.
