my first ever clown

Post by mickthefish »

i went in a shop round the corner from me and saw this fella in one of the tanks, i noticed it had just started getting ich but at a very low level, so i told the lad running the shop about it and at the same time asked him whats the pricetag an it, he said 8 quid now my grey cells started working, the botia is around 5 inches SL and at that size your looking at around 24 quid so i said bag it up i'll have it.
at the mo it's in a Q tank with some treatment for it's spots, it's friendly and eating well on live bloodworm.
here's a couple of pics of it.

probably will do, once i get some 6 foot tanks for the fish room.
i still like the botia family best though but this fish has got alot of character about him, it comes up to the tank to have a nosey at his keeper.

that won't happen bud, i plan to get another 5 once i have the tank setup and that will be the limit.
there's too many other fish i want to keep to devote my time to just a couple of fish.
i'm thinking of getting Channa bleheri as a future breeding programme.

it's been out of the Q tank and living with some assorted loaches and botias.
i was doing a clean up in the tank as well as a WC and it deemed to come to the front and as i had the camera handy i shot this pic it's mopping up some bloodworm.
