"Tank"- Battle

Post by Dirk_H. »

Hello,

look this battle in the tank between a Sewellia lineolata and (in my opinion) a Gastromycon punctulatus. Please not the totally different color of the Gastromycon! The normally color is dark grey.

They fight on a wood, which the Gastromycon means, it is his own place but the Sewellia want to get it too.

I see, that is a Gastromycon scitulus, not a G. punctulatus.

Hi Dirk,

Such "aggression" coloring I've noticed while a battle between two Pseudogastromyzon. But not often.

Bye,

Hi Dirk, great pictures and video. Martin has some pictures of what we call the 'war-paint' colouration they display when in a dispute with other suckers. Mine have never coloured up as much like yours and Martins but i must say it's really interesting with the dark 'skunk like' appearance.

Hi Graeme,

"war-paintin'"... I know. It's the coloring of indians or other, which are on the warpath. ;) I was very amazed, as I saw his colorchanging during nearly a half minute.
In my eyes, the video is a little bit to short. But the battles are not really big/long and I could watch it only on two or three days.

skunk like... a good adjustment.

Good n8.
