I was surprised my s. savona were excitedly eating zucchini (courgette) along with b. histrionicas. I've had both species together for ~2 months & tried a few types of veg several times. Neither showed any interest until last night's frenzy.
I didn't see it mentioned in the species index for savonas but maybe I should be offering veg to s. crimson too. I thought they were more strickly carnivores than botiid (sp) loaches. Anyone else's have this omnivorous feeding with other schisturas? I'm pretty new to the genus.
