I have been looking for Kubs for quite some time. The LFS has had quite a few for some time. But they have been skinny and tiny, so I have obstained from buying. I walked in today and suddenly I saw a group of Kubs that were much larger and well fed. So I purchased 5. They are about 7 cm. Im posting 2 pics of them. They are not spectacular photographs or anything. Just pics of.. ehh..well....kubs I`m so happy to have finally gotten hold of some descent specimens that I wanted to share it with fellow loachaholics
Thanks Graeme!!
I just released them into the tank. I turned the lights of before they went in. It`s really fascinating to see how they behave. They shoal together beautifully. (Because of the stress i imagine). I find that the theory of "safety in numbers" is proven at it`s best when fish are newly released in a tank
By the way... They are performing the loach dance with my biggest clown at the moment
Thanks Mick!
I`ve watched the tank closely today. It seems that the Kubs aren`t hiding as much as the other Loaches. They seem to be swimming around happily and investigating theyre new home. One of them got into quite a fight with one of the Striatas. (Nothing serious). They are beautiful fish.
BTW: Kubotai's and Striata's have always had a problem with each other since i kept them from day one. Most likely males that do this. Keep close observations anyway.
