hi guys,
as charles said...i also think it's not all about the water parameters...breeding them. i rather think it has to do with the water quality like rising conducticity between the water changes, the germ density must be another thing that might be important...
i would love to have a freshwater river next to my place. so i would let fresh water running through the tank nonstop...no filter no pumps just fresh water...actually i could try that with running tapwater!! a timer and a magnet valve controlling the output or the water outlet in the garden...so i maybe need a pump for the meantime...but no filter will be needed as the changes will be often enough...NO2 will be not a problem then.
my first idea was to make huge water changes during the week (5-7x 50%/day) and to add a UV clearer...
but i think the flowing water system might be the best, as my tapwater has a KH 6 ,pH must be over pH7 so i maybe start a little test...
as tan told me the pH was at a min. of pH7 where he caught the gastromyzon. i also try to harden the water up to a KH9 ...instead to make it softer (like i do for catfishes...)
so the softwatter change would be droping from KH9 down to max. KH6 (tapwater)...this will not much affect the pH but there is still a osmotic pressure on the fishes...also the conductivity will move up and down...
@borneosucker
50 boxes can contain at least 4000 fishes i'd guess...

wich i think is insane

i mean i want them before new years
