Loach ID needed - I think it is a dwarf

Hi there. I have had this loaches for around a month or so. They are from Myanmar. They came as tuberoschistura_sp. There current size is around 3/4". They seem to me like they are dwarf loaches.

Any ideas what they are?

I would say it looks like a Lepidocephalichthys sp.

I would agree with Thomas, most likely Lepidocephalichthys sp.

To me it looks very similar to this one but different coloration:

but I am not an expert on loaches.

Take a look at the fins, your loaches have markings in their fins, the tuberoschistura in your link has clear fins.

I am not saying is the same. I am takling about body shape in the comparison. The loach I have seem to be quite small...

i will go with the other two lads and say Lepidocephalichthys Pedro,
the body is shorter and stumpier the eye's are large and set more towards the snout and the peduncle is broader.
there are a few species that don't get very big, thermalis being one of them but yours is not that species.

Kottelatlimia pristes usually has a black spot on the top of the caudal peduncle next to the caudal fin and also tends to have a more elongated snout.

Hi Mark , I agree about the Pristies cenario , I was wondering if they might possibly be an unnamed Kottelatlimia sp/ ? aren't kottelatlimia's differensiated by the pectoral fins , differing from Lep's ?
