Hello everyone,
I'm looking to rehome my loaches and their non loach companions. It seems that my dreams of owning a suitably large enough tank for them all are not going to be coming true anytime soon (damn finances!) and I don't feel its fair to keep them in their current tank as they continue to grow. I live in Cardiff.
I've been adding to my relatively small (approx 3 and half foot) tank and keeping it clean by water changing twice a week with the aim of transferring them to a larger tank as soon as possible. However, I've recently been hit with a very large financial outlay and am unable to afford a larger tank for the foreseeable future.
These fish are special to me so I'll be looking for a good home for them. Some were picked up in terrible states and nursed to health (I've cured several of them from HITH, worms, flukes, whitespot etc and they are all a healthy greedy bunch now)
The fish I'm looking to rehome include:
A school of 4 clown loach (approx 3 inches) - 2 of these were suffering Hole in the Head when I got them. They are cured now but you can still see the scars. I think it adds to their character though! 3 of them are regular clown striped and one is striped with a spot on his tail (we call him scarface as he was suffering the worse from HITH and has a pale patch on his skull where the flesh grew back. They were all from the same tank when I got them and they get on great.
1 big fat yoyo - 3 inches
3 botia striatas - 1 of which became gravid recently
2 botia histrionica
3-6 tiny little loaches (not sure yet on what they'll grow to be, a mix of striata, histrionica and burmese perhaps)
1 large synodontis 5-6 inches - we call him the Grinch on account of his grumpy demeanor. He likes his own cave and chases any intruders away - lots of character.
1 medium synodontis - pretty leapord spots on tail
4 neon
14 ember tetra
4 panda barb
1 cherry barb
1 lonely silver dollar
4 pieces of bogwood (Including one beautiful large piece with connected caves underneath)
3 coconut caves
2 moss balls
6-7 white stones
2 artificial plants (all the live ones have been chomped to bits!)
Heater & 2 filters
I realise this tank is overstocked hence the frequent water changes and overfiltration. I kept meaning to switch them to a larger tank but its gone on too long now and for the benefit of the fish I would be happy to let them go.
If anyone is interested please post here. I'm very fond of all these little guys and girls so really would like them to go to a good home with an experienced fishkeeper. If you are interested and can provide some pictures of your set up then you can take them all for free. including the tank and equipment. There are probably a few more little loaches in there so I'll do a full inventory tonight.
Thank you for your interest.

If you're willing to split them, then I can take the B. striata and the Ember Tetras. I have a group of 14 B. striata I can add yours to and, the Ember Tetras can be added to the small shoal I have in another tank.
Out of interest, what are the dimensions of the tank? Is it a branded one? What filters are they? I may have a space for the tank dependent upon its dimensions and so I could hold the fish for you if you're looking to get rid quick. I will be perfectly honest with you, I would only be interested in the B. striata and the Ember Tetras; the rest I would keep in the tank until more suitable homes were found.
