You would be right there. However who mentioned Polkadot Loaches? All I see in the pics are Y.sidthimunki and B.striata.

I see B.Striata and B.Kubotai. I've never seen a sid that was that close in size to a Striata or was tan and brown. The only sids i have seen have looked like this.

The loach in the picture looks like a B.kubotai to me

Then again, I could be wrong. Maybe this fish is just so old and so pudgy that it looks like a B.kubotai to me. Too bad you don't have a full side picture of the fish, that might make it easier to tell the difference.

The fish is definitely Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki. As sids mature the chain pattern tends to develop all over the body. This fish was bought as a small specimen approximately two years ago. Whilst, I see a passing resemblance to B. kubotai I would expect it be confused with Y. nigrolineata first

Gotcha, I didn't realize that their pattern grew like that. I have (aparently young) sids and a full patterned kub. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a Y.nigrolineata so I don't think that I could be able to confuse them. Thanks for the correction
