I just saw sewellia albisurea here. not for the first time. http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/ ... 1252255980

looking a bit like a lineolata-spotted combination beautifull species. it's a pity it's not nearby. so: anybody over there loving sewellia should try to get them

I've been looking at these for a while Charles. I had some correspondence with the seller last month. They had them listed as beaufortia sp. I thought albisurea also from your previous info. I just don't have a place for them at the moment.

beaufortia sp.? that's funny. I have sent the infos about albisurea to the seller yesterday because he was not sure about the id. I'm still wondering how he get's them and the european importers don't even have an offer.

When i first saw the listing, maybe 6 weeks ago, I sent them the info on albisurea that you had provided earlier. They weren't convinced but at least changed it to sewellia sp. The price is dropping, started at $18.

Funny, I just bought me 3 of those in Hilversum (NL) 2 weeks ago.

They where sold as Lineolata.
I saw they had different markings then other Lineolata, but thought nothing of it.

great you found them. lucky you.
some LFS here sell fish imported by Ruinemans (NL) but it could be difficult to know. it's a tabu to ask. and one to answer. sewellia are not on his stocklist anyway (and a picture of b. kweichowensis as g. punctulatus!).
as a matter of fact it's more than upsetting if they mix now lineolata and albisurea. the small natural resources of albisurea won't stand the pressure made by the trade that way.
all in all it's not a big surprise. after all even the great german importers haven't changed s. "breviventralis" in elongata yet, some wholesalers did. it's clear what makes the difference: some accept infos others do not. simply a NIMBYism, lack of know-how, low interest in facts?

Our fish (i got one of those 3 ) are just what they sold em for:

It is at the least very interesting to hear they might be sold in Europe
If Ruinemans will stock them we still might be able to obtain a couple of the tadders

I exchanged a mail with an importer on that issue. he says a mixture is not very probable on the singapur-level. some months ago they had labeled it at the great exhibition as sewellia sp, realising, that it is a different species. no reason to relapse.
