Wild or Bred.

Post by Graeme McKellar »

I was checking out the website of a Thai Exporter recently and they stated whether their loaches were wild-caught or bred.
Wild-caught :- Morleti , Modesta , Lecontei , Horseface , Kuhlii , Helodes , Clown.
Bred :- Histrionica , Almorhae , Striata , Kubotai , Rostrata , Dario , Sidthimunki.
I had always wondered where my loaches came from.
Cheers Graeme.

An interesting list. This is just from one exporter? I wonder if those 'wild caught' Loaches are being bred by any other hatcheries?
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

That shape that they have is just caused by them being a little thin. Unless they have been sitting at the vendor for awhile, i would say those are captive bred. Fins look too nice for wild caught

if they are wild caught, they have some great looking fins
