Botia behavior?

Post by Still Loving Loaches » Thu Apr 08, 2010 3:37 pm

I've had Botia kubotai for about a month now. In just the last few days, I've seen them getting pale -- is this a dominance routine like I've seen with some of the other botias? I have five in pretty distinct sizes. They are in good color as I write.

Otherwise, they're eating well, dancing, coming up to surf in the strong current at the top of the tank, and basically acting like happy loaches. (I expect to see one with a margarita one of these days -- these are definitely party loaches!)

Thanks for any insight.

Almost certainly a case of "graying out". Just part of normal Botiid interactions that usually involve sorting out the hierarchy in the group.

Martin.
