Pakistan loach
Picked up a pakistan loach yesterday, but the guy who sold it me didn't know much about them and couldn't tell me a great deal. Just wanted to know alittle bit more about them, will he bond with my clown loach?

Pakistani/Yo-yo loaches (Botia almorhae) can sometimes be a little fiesty, so you'll want to give them plenty of room and keep them with appropriate tankmates (i.e. no tiny or long finned fish). As with all other Botia species, you do really want to keep at least 3 of them, and preferably 5+.
I wouldn't keep them with clowns myself, although many people do.

Not for long. Yoyo's may be the fastest growing loach. I got five skinny tiny (<1") yoyo's in Jan, they are approaching the 4" mark now.Dave_2133 wrote:Thank for the advice. the yo-yo loach is the smallest fish in my tank
I think with yoyo's you should assume 5" size (==5g) per fish right away.
They would not really do this, but they will bother other fish.so i wont have trouble with him eating any other fish.
They grow fast and big! One of my females is no longer rocking back and forth, she is now rolling side to side when she stops. She's a year old and heading towards the 5 inch mark now. Adding insult to injury, the other female is starting to do the same thing. They stop on the bottom and catch themselves in mid roll.

She's even fatter now than she was in this picture. I'm hoping I won't have a problem with them becoming egg bound. The male does keep them on the run thou.
