River manifold: glue?
Hi all,
I'm putting together my manifold system and would like to know if I can get away with not gluing it. I have more than enough filtration and flow, so I'm not super concerned with a little bit of leakiness. Is there a reasonable chance of a big enough failure to seriously compromise performance if I don't glue it? It seems pretty tight to me as is...
Thanks!

I did not glue mine and it has been over a year with no problems.

Re: River manifold: glue?
i think its better to use pvc cement as it can loosen up overtime

You wouldnt have that problem with a V8
Re: River manifold: glue?
Never glued mine and never had a problem.

I don't see the point in gluing it. The pieces should push together well enough, and be reasonably tight. It is unlikely to be 'moved' by anything once it is placed in the tank and gravel poured over it. And the powerheads really don't put the pipework under enough suction/pressure to warrant tightly gluing each join. It isn't like you need to worry about water dripping onto your floorboards....
