I totally agree 8)
However, the significance of the colors may be useful in the process.
I did change the color scheme because it was WAY too garish (I'll admit, I did pick those colors originally, but I was more into getting the data out there than the look of things!)

The latest excel version has a Medium blue heading bar, and muted lighter highlights.

Light yellow indicates new species not on the original list.
Light blue indicates species with written descriptions.

Having those highlighted makes it really easy to see which species are done, and which need profiling without having to go down the whole list of sticky's here to refresh your memory and double check. It may keep you all from possibly duplicating a species at some point...

It won't be the end product for the web page. That will be much nicer looking, but at this point the nuts and bolts are most important. ;-) Since we do have a web hosting deal with Lunarpages (haven't done anything with it yet--no real vision in mind for it!) we can set things up so that both pages will show in separate places. The pretty one to show to the forum, and the ugly one for you all to enjoy. :P

I just realized that the orange/yellow you were referring to is in the new version. The yellow is a link you've not yet viewed. It turns orange after you click it once...

It's not there...because we replaced it with the other one...
and that makes you not a complete ijit. ;-)

What I want to know is if it should be? Cause we can put it back up...without taking the other one down...

Are there any functional differences? If not, I see no point in both. If there's a point and purpose to the original one then I'll go get me some cheap sunglasses 8)

The functional difference is that both new species and already complete species are clearly marked. On the newer version, you can tell which are finished because they have active links. But you can't tell which are new species. . . that may not be a significant issue, however. It's really up to you guys. 8)

Hello all,

To make sure I don't miss any of the new species you may list on here, would you mind putting a date you enter it from now on? I think I am current on the list (you can check me on the 'functional' list if you like) as of now, but if you do take the time to add any further new discoveries it would be very helpful to me to see them dated. The ugly list has the 'new' species highlighted in yellow, so we can see them there, too. (along with the date I entered them into the index)

I've just found some of my old pics of Longischistura striata, and have noticed they aren't on the old index. Please could you add to the new species list and I'll do a profile some point soon. :D

Where we have the updated names in the proposed new index, am I right or wrong in thinking that the new names for Botia robusta, pulchra etc etc should be Sinibotia rather than Sinobotia?

No, but it can't be long now because as you know it was ordered for me as a present :D and they said it could take up to 3 months (!!!) to arrive and I'm sure it's over 2 months since the order was placed.
