Just checking out some of the species left and discovered that
Formosiana tinkhami is now Crossostoma tinkhami. The pic in the old species index looks quite a bit like an L. disparis. Do we even want to do this one. Any thoughts?

I couldn't find any other pics of that species, so I think we could eliminate it in the index or substitue another crossostoma species.

I think that is possibly L. disparis ....X it.

Other things for perusal folks.

What is Puma Loach....Acanthocobitis sp.?
In Andrew's Indian Fish book that species is clearly illustrated, but named A. rubipinnis which it clearly isn't due to the caudal shape.

Another one is Panther Loach....Noemacheilus sp..... any ideas?

The only loaches I've seen associated with these two common names are not what are shown on the old index. That's the trouble with common names.

I've had a look in Kottelat's Indochinese Nemacheilines book just in case, but can't find anything that looks close to these pictures. Mind you, the book is full of those awful preserved specimens so that doesn't help....

Is there any way of contacting Brain M Lynch to ask if he has any more info on these? i.e. where they were shipped from etc.

That Acanthocobitis we ought to be able to ID. Should bung some pics over to petfrd.com. I bet we get a positive on it.

You mean Noemacheilus sp that's attached to N. potanini in the old index?
If so, they can go. The pictures were PFK and they objected, so the pics were removed . We have no others.

Panda kuhli definitely stays. It can become Pangio unknown01 unless Emma's ID'd it yet???? Em...you want to do a profile based on general kuhli care and what you know about it?

No probs, Martin. I'll put together a profile on those Panda kuhlis.

No word from the supplier as to an ID yet - they have them offered for sale again this week (listed once more as Panda Coolie Loach), but they were going to let me know when they had a positive ID on them.

OK.
The Acanthocobitis sp. stays waiting on Id.
The Noemacheilus sp. goes.
The Botia sp. I should have deleted when doing the unknown01...

Meanwhile, now that Jeff may be upgrading to a Plone CMS...things will be changing.
