After several years of trying to get hold of these, last week I finally managed to get a shipment of 250 Golden Weather Loaches (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus). Believe it or not, 250 was the smallest quantity I could get, and the fish are all at least 4" in length. All arrived in great condition and a week on, have settled in well. They'll be going on sale in a few weeks, after we've fattened them up a little bit.
Here's some pics:
Hope you like them. These were taken 3 days after the loaches arrived.
They are really cute, and I wish I had room for a nice big temperate tank for some of these at home.......
I never could get a good reason from the farm that produces these but they don't want to sell small ones, which is a shame. The color is much more intense when they are about 2"

These Golds came via my Hong kong supplier, where we normally get our fancy goldfish from, and were the smallest size they had on offer. Some have yellowy patches along the dorsal surface and a few have little browny coloured patches, but I did not manage to get a pic of these (yet) as they wouldn't come towards the front of the tank. Really lovely fish.
This is the original breeder of the Chinese version. When I left Dolphin, most of what was being produced was being sold directly to Tunghoi's customers. I'm guessing that their customer's market is saturated or maybe someone else is producing them now.
