Walmart fish

Post by shari2 » Sat Dec 23, 2006 12:40 am

TIP:
Do NOT take your young son with you to look at the sad specimens in the Walmart fish tanks. He will promptly point out all the dead fish, the unhappy fish, and fish that you should summarily 'save' from a fate worse than death.

He will then point at the poor little clowns in the dark bottom tank and say, 'look, mommy! That clown has four stripes! How come all yours only have three?'

then you take a closer look and lo and behold, there are 3 fat little (tiny!) clowns that sure enough, have 4 stripes, and some very interesting markings. hmmmm....

So guess who now has singlehandedly 'saved' three clowns from death at the hands of the evil Walmart empire?

They are in my (supposed to be coming down!) 55g that is so green it is impossible to take pics in. I just couldn't get around to getting rid of the plants...they are so bushy and wild looking.
The little critters are loachy dancing, and flitting about like manic crazy, eating like wild, and in general, taking advantage of every crevice to excersize their not inconsiderable speediness. Guess I'll be cleaning it up (but not too much) and may end up moving the big guys back in there. At least it will give the poor plants in the 40 a chance to grow back and there will be no more horsie loaches disappearing down the gullets of the pack of voracious clowns.

Maybe I'll even see if the angels get amorous and grow out a spawn...

Congratulations!
4-striped pictures would certainly be interesting to see one day.

Ha ha! Suckerrrr!

I think the term is coined because you succumbed to their cuteness.

Succumbed to a need to rescue them.....to offer them succour

Succumbed to the trifecta of impossible cuteness, unusual markings and .....well it's Walmart right? Rescue time :P

As an aside, I discovered from a very reliable source that the company I dealt with on behalf of Emma over the picture copyright issue has the contract for supplying Walmart in Toronto.

What we're talking about here is my Clown Loach drawing from the top of the page. It's not a photo, but a drawing. It was drawn while I was resident in England, but I have the original here with me in Toronto.
Here's where it is being used:

well if you were dutch you only had to take the picture to a tax-office they take a picture put you as owner with it for a few bucks and there you have it real waterproof proof of owner and creation

nonetheless every picture you take with your camera of drawing you make is under copywright it's ownly a bit harder to proof it's yours....

Well, one thing I had thought of was my sister works in a lawyers in England

I'm still waiting on any reaction to my post on their forum. I"m hoping that my timing of placing it there just before the holidays means a lot of people might see it before they probably inevitably remove it.

I've heard rumours that they don't like dissent amongst their posters.

I signed up so I could see the post. I was sorely tempted to "stir the pot" a bit , but I've held off so far :)
