Injured Clown

Post by poeticpyro »

So this is what happened, Raja (the alpha clown loach 5") attacked another smaller (4" Captain hook) clown loach... Raja had his/her eye spines out and cut up Captian hook's head and barbles. now Captian hook is by him/herself and is unable to do much. what should i do?

if i can get pics i will post them.

Make sure you keep the water in tip-top condition (lots of small partial changes) and these wounds should heal themselves.

Thanks Emma! I know I can always count on you. He's eating now, thank god. I've been giving him special food (he's lost a little bit of weight since the attack). I am also adding a little extra Stress Coat (water conditioner with aloe) to help regeneration of his scarred tissues.

with a scale-less fish you'd probably irritate it a fair bit with the melafix... whether the melafix would work or not I dont know... but scale-less fish are very finicky with irritants...

I've used Melafix in with Clowns, no problem.

And they're not "scaleless". They have tiny, tiny scales.
