martin, i am going to use that same cover idea on the 55..
i am going to make a DIY canopy with 2 - 40w tubes, then make the vapor block from the plastic sheeting used with fluorescent lighting (this stuff) then screw a drawer handle on the top so i can tilt it up to feed/clean...yea..
of course im not going to steal your bamboo light idea, i'm not smart enough to make it!! haha
-brett.
PS: how does the electricity get into the cable?? from the ceiling or the floor??

The hood should work out nicely.
I explained about the power above, but I'll show you.
The support cables come down the side of the tank and are double looped through this eye-ring, then go through holes in the stand end panels.

Thence to the transformer mounted on the stand's back panel inside the right-hand cupboard. Into a powerstrip which is supplied from a wall socket behind the stand.

Martin.

Nice, the halogen gives the tank a warm pleasant feeling. It is real nice. I think it looks much better than flourescent bulbs. I just bought 4 flourscent bulbs too. Keep up the innovations.
How many hours a week do you light the plants with these bulbs?
