I've just found a tank-full of these chaps. Must be around 50+ in one tank, labeled as Striped Hillstream pleco. Just thought i'd inform you lot! So you can keep your eye's pealed. :wink: Here's a couple of Bad pictures of my Sinogastromyzon wui. :D

Thanks. :D There's still plenty left, these chaps where not so cheap. I assume they know what they are shipping out. Although i'am tempted to go back and get some more for a dedicated species tank (one prays they breed) :wink:

Nice find, Graeme! I haven't been seeing these much in the last few years.
I really like this species, however, it tends to be like H. yunnanensis in that it is VERY shy. One of mine is trained to eat bloodworms out of the end of a feeding tube. The other acts as if I am a big, terrifying monster although I have had the thing for about 5 years.
This may be a good chance to get some more pics of this fish for the species index (hint, hint) ;)

Jim, yeah i agree. With my short time of observing these chaps, they headed straight to-wards the resting place of the Sewellia sp. spotted. No doubt, there was a bit of shoving going on. :lol:

Mark, these are at P Barrett's (Gosforth). I'm off to Tom's tomorrow. :wink:

While this species is normally rather mellow, they can get a bit fiesty. I have seen mine spar with beaufortia before, but the most intertaining scuffles are with the H. yunnanensis. This morning at feeding time, I got to see that again. The S. wui in the tank was fighting with both yunnanensis at the same time, trying to position itself to get some bloodworms. The wui usually has his own place to hide, but for some reason he wanted to temporarily take over the yunnanensis favorite spot.
Interesting critters.

Cheers, Jim. I've just seen one interesting thing, whilst feeding some Bloodworm's. Two of them moved up-wards on the front glass and tried to jump at the bloodworm's which where still in my fingers. Crazy chaps!
